2003 marked Orville Lerch’s
20th year of service as a Financial Consultant to the Clarion community
and local investors. Orv originally joined Parker/Hunter in 1983 and returned
in 2001. He now serves as the branch office manager of Parker/Hunter’s
Clarion office. As a Financial Consultant he offers his clients, both
individuals and businesses, a full range of investment products and services
including stocks, bonds, mutual funds, IRAs, annuities, CDs, portfolio
management, financial planning, retirement planning, and estate planning.
Additionally, Orv is a member of the Lerch Team at Parker/Hunter that
includes his son Matt Lerch, Financial Consultant and Vice President,
and Financial Consultant Donna Case. Sales Assistants for the team
include Carole Bachman and Beverly Lauer.
Orv’s business career, community involvement and family orientation have prepared him for the last 20 years in his profession as educator and advisor to individuals. Educating individuals and families about life planning and investing is his strength and passion. Providing outstanding financial advice is a goal Orv strives for in any relationship. He focuses on helping friends, neighbors, community organizations, and fellow businesses plan for the accumulation, management and successful transfer of their wealth.

Personal:
Born and raised in Sligo, Orv is the fifth generation of the Lerch family to grow up in Clarion County. He graduated from Clarion High School and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University where he studied Forestry Engineering. He spent four years in Chicago working for Sherwin Williams, then returned to the Clarion area where he taught Algebra and Earth/Space Science for five years at Clarion High School while running a small store in the Cook Forest selling supplies to tourists. His career turned to politics and the state capital of Harrisburg when he served as Chief Advance man to Raymond P. Shafer who was eventually elected governor of Pennsylvania in 1966.
Later, President Nixon appointed Orv to the position of alternate Federal Co-Chairman of the Appalachain Regional Commission in Washington D.C. At the age of 40, Orv, his wife and their four children left the hustle of the city and returned to Clarion where he received his MBA and began a career in finance which allowed him to return to the educational roots he left many years ago.
Orv contributes to the Clarion community in numerous capacities. He is currently serving his second six year term on the Council of Trustees of Clarion University of Pennsylvania and serves as Chairman for the Clarion Area Authority. He is a member of the Clarion Rotary and a ruling elder of the Presbyterian Church of Clarion. Additionally, he sponsored the annual golf outing for the Clarion Area Chamber of Business and Industry for seven years. He is a past charter member of the Clarion Area Jaycees and past Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Clarion Hospital.
