Alyssa Prettyman joined Parker/Hunter, a division of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, as a Financial
Consultant in 2000 to work as a team with her father, Howard Gierling. As
a Financial Consultant, she offers her clients a full range of investment
products and services including stocks and bonds, mutual funds, IRAs,
annuities, CDs, portfolio management, financial planning, retirement planning,
estate planning, and more to both individuals as well as businesses. Alyssa
appreciates that the firm focuses on client service and relationship
building while many other firms focus on product sales.
Alyssa carefully reviews a client’s needs and then makes recommendations
based upon the client’s established goals and priorities. Because
of the many investment choices available today, she researches individual
equities, mutual funds and other investment products to secure the right
fit for each client. Alyssa strives to know her clients well, allowing
their investments to truly line up with their personalities. She believes
that this approach enables her to address all areas of their financial
lives that need attention.

Personal:
Prior to joining the firm Alyssa worked as an agent at Mutual of
New York and New England Financial. A native of the West Mifflin area,
Alyssa attended West Mifflin High School. She received her bachelor of
arts degree from Allegheny College. Alyssa
and her husband John have two poodles who accompany them on visits to
the local nursing home through the Humane Society’s pet visitation
program. She is a member of the Seneca Evangelican Church. In her spare
time she enjoys scuba diving in warmer waters and gardening in her flower
and herb gardens.
