Parker/Hunter, a division of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, partners with the Allegheny Conference on Community Development's new television program focusing on regional competitiveness

Parker/Hunter has always been involved in our region's activities and programs, especially those which improve our economic, social and cultural opportunities.

As member of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development and an Investor in 3 Rivers, One Future, we have participated in building a strong community and in planning for our region's future. In addition, many individuals who work for Parker/Hunter have personal involvements in organizations such as the Pittsburgh Symphony, the United Way, and local YMCAs and YWCAs.

Our commitment to both our smaller communities and to our region at large is shared by all of us. Since November 7, 2004 we have continued this regional support by sponsoring Our Region's Business, a new television program hosted by Bill Flanagan that is broadcast on three local NBC affiliates. It will reach the majority of our offices, our clients, and our neighbors.

Our Region's Business airs on the NBC affiliated stations WPXI, WJAC, WTOV and PCNC. We are very pleased to be reunited with Bill Flanagan in this endeavor to enhance the Region's image and grow its economy.

Our Region's Business celebrates individual business excellence, shines a spotlight on best practices in business, finance and economic development, and informs residents of the region about competitive challenges. Equally important, the program elevates awareness of emerging opportunities and examines how best to take advantage of them.

As an example, program content will include:

Breaking business or economic development issues
Strategic discussion including the profile of an entrepreneur or focus on an issue that intrinsically challenges managers, highlighting best practices
Regional news from an outsider's perspective -- how the national and international communities view our region
Finance and investment ideas related to the economy. A Parker/Hunter representative will appear on the show monthly to address timely subjects ranging from the regional economy to national and international economic influences on our region, our businesses, and our lifestyles
